What are some good ways of making my short experimental film look pro?
I'm making a short art film for Film and Tv and it has to be relevant to youth. I have the scenes in my heard, but I want to know some cheap ways of making good use of the schools camera. I already know about floodlights making the film look nicer, but I need something I can easily buy and use.
any ideas?
You can edit gritty effects (like have the film much grayer and darker than usual) to add effect, or add extra colour to make everything look really good. I dunno how you would do this (i use my editing stuff, but it cost £60, and you don;t wanna spend any money) unless you have a mac, and then it ought to be somewhere...but change the gamma's and options like that (low gamma means less light adding grit, high gamma makes area's of light more coloured so gives it a light effect)
Type Of Decorative Window Film
Today, we may know that decorative films have become more popular very rapidly, some of people may have used once and realised how decorative window films can make difference to the house. This including in terms of protecting room from strong sunlight and add privacy to people who stay behind windows and glass doors. The most common types of decorative window films that widely used are adhesive-based polyester films and adhesive-free static-vinyl films. The adhesive-based films were used in the past this could be in the form of normal paper stick on the glass panel of the window.
When we first thinking about the adhesive type, we normally think about its advantage of price, which generally cheaper than adhesive-free static-vinyl film. However, if compare to all of other element and characteristic of both type of films, you will realise that there are other advantage that adhesive-free type has more benefit of use. These benefits can be demonstrated as appearance, materials, supplies, time of installing and remove and energy saving.
However, the method of application of both films to window glass surface is quite similar. These steps are firstly clean the glass surface and make sure the surface is free from stain and dust. Remove film from backing paper then apply film to the surface. The most important process is you have to squeegee out water and air bubbles from under film and let dry.
The following detail describes about the basic characteristics of both types of films in order for you to have more idea about what the films look like so you will be able to choose proper type for home decoration. Generally the adhesive-free films are the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sheets and they are available in 0.8 mm. in thickness. The adhesive-free means the film will stick to glass automatically like magnet stick on steel. Mean while the ordinary adhesive type is the polyester film that has stronger power of glue that applied to it and this cause difficulty when we want to remove, the normal adhesive type usually available in 0.2 mm. in thickness.
Although there is a huge different of both type of films, but you still be able to choose them as they have benefits, especially in terms of easy to trim size as well as easy to be applied to glass that has wet surface. The other different between the adhesive-free and normal adhesive is the adhesive-free needs water sprayed once after it has been removed from the backing paper. So this make the normal adhesive type is more difficult in terms of installation and removal.
However, a big difference between both types is obvious when we remove film form backing paper. The ordinary adhesive generally is heavier and it will hang quite straight when removed from its backing paper. There is a caution point that you have to be careful not to let the ordinary adhesive touch on the window before apply to the glass because it will easily straightened and it will lose ability to stick on the glass. However, some manufacturers have realised of this point and improve the quality so some type of ordinary adhesive still ready to apply.

Film Review: the Breed (2006)
Executive producer Wes (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream) Craven has been a good influence on this horror film about genetically engineered dogs that take over an isolated island and cause some vacationers serious trouble. Written by Robert Conte and Peter Martin Wortmann THE BREED is about a group of friends that head out to a vacation house to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life for just one weekend. Unbeknownst to them that they will have to use their whit to out think a bunch of intelligent dogs who refuse to let anyone else inhabit their island.
Trapped in the vacation house the friends have to get off the island by any means necessary but the pack of dogs have other plans as they are always one step ahead of the humans. Although the script is fairly straight forward and bland director Nicholas Mastandrea does a great job with presenting the action sequences, which keep the film rolling forward in the second half of the film. The first half of the film is the weak link in that it ebbs and flows very slowly as it sets up the rest of the film but this first half is so predictable and borrows so much from other horror films that came before it that it comes off as cliché.
Even with the cliché script it is the cast that shines in this film as they have put together a good ensemble with Michelle Rodriguez, Oliver Hudson, and Taryn Manning, to name a few. They are very well together and at times elevate the pedestrian script. Also of note is Giulio Biccari’s cinematography which make the film look bigger and better then it actually is and putting this film on par which such other theatrical films as TOURISTAS, WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (the remake), or JOYRIDE. THE BREED may not be as ground breaking as CUJO but it has its moments.

How to achieve film look?
I have a Sony FX7 and I'm trying to get a more film-like look. I've read that a variety of filters can help this... but on a tight budget, which are best?
The filters I was mulling over were a .03 neutral density filter, a diffuser filter, a Sony telephoto lens, and a UV, fluorescent, and polarizing lens set. But obviously I can't afford to get all of these at once. Which would be most helpful to me in trying to get a film look?
Just get a polarizing filter.
Depend on good post-processing to get film look !
